The Santa Rosa Blend:

This USDA certified organic single origin coffee comes from the Santa Rosa de Copán region of Honduras. The coffee is processed using a traditional washed method – pulping the cherries and fermenting them in tanks before washing the mucilage completely from the seed, and then finally drying them on patios. This process yields a very clean cup, whether you prefer a fuller bodied french press, a transparent pour over brew, a stronger and more acidic pull of espresso, or the push of the Aeropress. Notes of almonds, toffee, and some lingering floral and zesty citrus tastes are how we’d describe this coffee.

How do we infuse? High quality coffee beans have about 15% fat, and cannabinoids such as CBD bind to fat. During the roast, these naturally occurring oils in the coffee beans become more active and exposed, and we directly infuse them once the beans have cooled and are degassing during the curing process. Our coffees are infused at a 1:1 ratio of milligrams of CBD to grams of coffee for easy measuring.

How do we infuse? 

-Begin with 1/2 oz. (2 heaping Tbsp) coffee per 8 oz. water (about a 1:16 ratio of coffee to water)
-Use water just off the boil – about 195°F – 205°F
-Choose the desired grind for your brewing method, and grind freshly before brewing (perhaps one of the most critical steps to brewing great coffee)
-Store in an airtight, opaque container, in a cool, dry place


**We don’t recommend cold brews or using ultra-thick paper filters (we like stainless mesh filters!). Cold brews don’t extract oils from the grounds, and thick paper filters remove most of the oils from the cup. Cold brews and thick filters produce delicious cups of coffee, but ones without much of the CBD oil we’ve infused into the coffee beans.
