Cannabidiol (CBD) is a molecular constituent of the hemp plant that has significant medical benefits. CBD does not make you feel stoned or high. It can counteract the psycho-activity of THC in fact. Because CBD-rich oil from hemp (CBD oil) is non-psychoactive it helps treat inflammation, pain, anxiety, stress, depression, psychosis, spasms, and other conditions without feeling drowsy or euphoric.Text
Those Questions Everyone Asks
What is CBD?
Will I get high from CBD?
CBD does not make you feel stoned or high. It can counteract the psycho-activity of THC in fact. THC is the compound in cannabis that makes one “high”. The amount of THC in hemp is so negligible that we’re not aware of anyone ever reporting feeling “high”. We have not heard of anyone becoming addicted to Full Spectrum Hemp Extract.
Is CBD legal?
The United States Agricultural Farm Bill of 2014 listed products derived from industrial hemp and containing less than 0.03% THC completely legal.
Can you become addicted?
No, and a sound explanation comes from a report by the World Health Organization, which examined many, many aspects of CBD, including its potential for abuse. “Single dose administration of cannabidiol has been evaluated in healthy volunteers using a variety of tests of abuse potential as well as physiological effects in a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial.” reads the report. In other words, it passed the tests for addictiveness or of the potential for abuse with flying colors. There are simply no negative attributes to report.
Can you overdose on CBD
You will not overdose on CBD oil. Overdose isn’t a word that should be paired with CBD oil.
What is the correct dosing amount / how often should I take it?
When beginning CBD, it’s best to start with the smallest dose possible. Everyone reacts differently to various supplements. As with any new product, it is important to become familiar with how your body responds to CBD before increasing the dose.
The right dose of CBD varies from person to person. Generally speaking, larger individuals may prefer a higher dose of CBD than smaller people. With CBD, you can easily scale up just a few milligrams at a time to meet your personal needs.
The approach we recommend taking is called titration: starting with any oil is to begin taking 3-5 drops twice a day for the first 3-4 days. It is important for CBD to build up in your system so you can truly see the difference it is making in your body. After this amount of time, increase or decrease the amount you’re taking based on the results you’re seeing. Listening to your body is key.
Capsules you will want to take one a day and gummies we recommend you start with half and use the same method of titration to find the most optimal dose.
What are terpenes?
Terpenes (and terpenoids) are aromatic, organic compounds found in many plants and even some insects. Plants developed terpenes to ward off herbivores that might eat them and to attract helpful predators and pollinators. Cannabinoids and terpenes work together to boost and modulate the effects of one another in the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS).
What are cannabinoids?
A cannabinoid is one of a class of diverse chemical compounds that acts on cannabinoid receptors in cells that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain. Ligands for these receptor proteins include the endocannabinoids, the phyto-cannabinoids, and synthetic cannabinoids.
What is the difference between full spectrum and isolate
Full Spectrum CBD generally refers to CBD oil products that not only contain CBD, but also contain some terpenes and other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN and even some THC. This is where all the cannabinoids and terpenes are working together in synergy, something that Isolate products will lack.
CBD Isolate is a product of choice for those who get drug tested or are sensitive to other cannabinoids such as THC. Products labeled as Isolate will generally be highlighted as being 99+% pure CBD.
What is the best way to consume / administer cbd?
Inhalation is the most efficient CBD delivery system, with more of the original product entering the bloodstream than other methods. Hemp products delivered in this manner also tend to pass out of the bloodstream within a few hours.
Sublingual delivery allows the compound to be absorbed by the capillaries in the mucous membranes, and directly into the bloodstream. The remainder is swallowed and allowed to slowly digest. A patient choosing this delivery method can have both immediate and long-lasting relief.
Is it safe for children / pets to use?
We cannot administer medical advice. But, we can report that many toddlers are taking these products daily for many of the same medical conditions that teens and adults are using it for. As well, we are aware of numerous pets who take these products daily without any ill effects.
Accordion 1Can I take it with "X" medication?
Since we are not doctors and we do not your know individual situation, we cannot provide this advice. We CAN tell you that many of our customers have significantly reduced, and even completely got off of, prescription medicines after using these products. Please consult your physician regarding your specific situation.
Why are some cbd products more expensive than others?
CBD products price will be determined by quality of hemp used, extraction process, whether it is full spectrum or isolate, MG dosage, amount of lab testing done and packaging.
What is a farm to table product?
A farm to table product is a product that is considered, “seed to shelf.” This means that every step of the process to create a tincture, topical, vape oil or edible starts from the seed, which is germinated, planted and grown. From there it is harvested, extracted, tested and then packaged. At this point it is ready for the “shelf,” or simply put, to be sold.
The entirety of this process is all done in house without any outsourcing. For example, a company that isn’t farm to table maybe sourcing their industrial hemp from Europe. In most cases, a farm to table company is going to be producing a superior product in comparison to other companies that are outsourcing. This is due to the quality control they have throughout every step of the process.
What is a COA and Why are they important?
COA stands for Certificate of Analysis. COA’s typically provide the potency accuracy of the cannabinoids present in a product, as well as a terpene analysis if needed; and a residual solvent/contaminant test to prove the purity of a product. Testing for COA’s are done by accredited 3rd party laboratory’s whose sole goal is to make sure a product is pure enough for human consumption and to ensure that said product is within State and Federal law regulations.
Will I fail Drug screening?
In short, you have a 0.1% chance with Full Spectrum products when taking the recommended serving, as it contains up to 0.3% THC.
With our Sustainable Isolate products there is a 0.00% chance, as we have isolated the CBD so that it contains no THC whatsoever. Both formulas are completely non psychoactive when taking the recommended serving.
With 3-5 servings daily of 0.5mg THC (contained in most commercial CBD-rich hemp oil products), the positive urine screen rate is less than 0.1%. Most servings of typical high-quality, high-purity CBD-based hemp oil products contain well below 0.1mg of THC and therefore have upwards of 400-600 times less THC than marijuana products.
What does all this mean?
Put simply, a consumer who uses a high-quality, scientifically vetted hemp-based product at the standard serving size is highly unlikely to test positive for THC and/or THC-COOH. However, it’s important to be cognizant that extremely high doses may result in a positive urine screen (which would be subsequently shown to be false via GC/MS testing, if available). Ultimately, consumers need to be fully informed of the specific regulations posed by their employers or other authorized parties and adjust their consumption of cannabinoid products accordingly.
